About J. Kent Whipple Services
In 1973, after moving back into the Pottstown, PA area from Dodge City, KS, Kent Whipple started a janitorial cleaning company that has now grown into a high quality textile cleaning company servicing carpets, area rugs, oriental rugs, upholstery, tile and grout, and odor resotration.
The Early Years
Over the next ten years, Kent and the company were maintaining a quarter of a million square feet of office space for a number of companies throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. However, with three small children, the hours were not the greatest, so Kent decided to start scaling back the janitorial division of his company and invest more time and equipment into cleaning and more specifically the residential carpet cleaning market. This allowed a better balance of work and family time.
Carpet Cleaning had been a service the company had been offering for a number of years to its janitorial clients using portable machines. In 1986, Kent purchased his first truckmount carpet cleaning machine and has continued to look for new methods, products, and tools to give the best carpet cleaning available.
Recent History
The summer of 1998 saw the addition of Kent's son Jason to the staff. Working through the summers and times off during the school year, Jason began to learn the skills and equipment of the business. This hands on approach has taught Jason the value of providing a superior product and service to the company's clientelle and that the best way to sustain the growth of a company is to take care of its clientelle.
In 2015, J. Kent Whipple Services added a second truckmount to its operation. With two trucks in the field we can now service a wide range of facilities and clientele in a timely manner. Along with equipment, each truck is operated by technicans with no less than 20 years experience in the carpet cleaning industry.
Later that same year, the company took lease of a warehouse space in Green Lane, Pa. The added space has allowed us to add off site washing of area and oriental rugs.
Present and Future
Currently, we continue provide high quality, high end services to our clients throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. We strive to build relationships with our clients. It is not lost on us the trust that you give us each time we care for you home furnishings and textiles. In the future it is our hopes to continue to serve our residential clients and our commercial market share in the carpet, rug, upholstery, tile, and odor restoration services.
